Here are some filtering options. I recommend filtering and accountability combined. If I had to choose, I have found accountability more effective. However, I have used Cyberpatrol and it works reasonably well. However, you must give the password to your spouse or accountability partner. PERIOD.

The providers below advertise family friendly filtered dial-up internet access through their internet service. They provide an alternative to ISP's such as AT&T, Mindspring, America Online (AOL) and Earthlink. I recommend Integrity Online.
This is mandatory. These programs are easily installed on your computer. They track any all internet activity on your computer. All questionable sites are tracked and an email is sent you your accountability partner that receives a report either once or twice a month. You choose the accountability partner. If you turn the software off, that triggers a report to your partner. If you uninstall the software, the same thing happens. You choose how often the report is sent and to whom. This software is GREAT. I highly recommend it. I use www.x3watch.com because it is free. This software should be installed on all computers that you use that have internet access.
