Freedom Group Basics

This worksheet is designed to be a tool that you bring to each meeting and use daily in your work with the books.  The top half shows which exercises go with which step.  It is important to do the appropriate exercises with each of the 12 Steps. The bottom half of this sheet outlines the meeting process.  This is for you to use at each meeting so that you can participate effectively.

Working the MaterialsIn recovery, you are responsible for making progress in your books. We do not do the work in the group meetings.  The Final Freedom is a text book that provides an excellent overview on sexual addiction the related spiritual and clinical issues with the addiction as well as recovery.  101 Freedom Exercises is designed to accompany the 12 Steps to Freedom workbook.  These two workbooks are to be done in tandem.  The coordination of the two books is summarized below.  Exercises correspond to each of the 12 Steps in the recovery process.

Exercises          1-30      Pre-Step One (some of these require you to act on the exercise on a daily basis…not just fill out the page.  Obedience leads to recovery)

Exercises          31-46              Step One
Exercises          47-55              Step Two
Exercises          56-74              Step Three
Exercise           75                   Step Four
Exercises          76-87              Step Five
Exercise           88                   Step Six
Exercises          89-94              Step Seven
Exercise           95                   Step Eight
Exercise           96                   Step Nine
Exercises          97-98              Step Ten
Exercise           99                   Step Eleven
Exercises          100-101           Step Twelve

One of the fundamental tenets of recovery is to maximize effort and outcome on each exercise and step in the recovery process rather than “go through the motions” to get it done.  This is one of those situations where those that put forth the most effort get the most benefit.
